About Us

“Nurture your mind with great thoughts; to believe in the heroic makes heroes.”  -Benjamin Disraeli

Harvie Elementary School, located in the Fairfield Division, is named for the road on which it is built. This road is named after Mr. Jacquelin B. Harvie, who married Mary Marshall, the daughter of Chief Justice John Marshall. John Marshall’s farm, the Chickahominy, was not far from the present Harvie Road. Harvie Elementary School was dedicated on September 16, 2008.  It is the forty-fifth elementary school to be built in Henrico County.  It drew students from Ratcliffe, Arthur Ashe, and Glen Lea Elementary Schools, and together we became the “Harvie Heroes.”  Our founding PTA President was Mrs. Carla Ingram.  This year we will educated approximately 600 in our Pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade levels.  Come by to visit our beautiful facility, our friendly staff, and our eager learners!
