YAY TAMMY OZOLINS! Tammy Ozolins, a health and PE teacher at Pocahontas Middle School, is today's "Yay of the Day" honoree! Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently at Pocahontas.

"She constantly goes above and beyond to connect with students both in and outside of the classroom. Ms. Oz is welcoming and encourages students to achieve their personal best. Students are naturally drawn to Ms. Oz's upbeat personality, and she makes learning fun.
"In an email sent to Ms. Oz, one of her students wrote: 'Ms. Oz, I just wanted to thank you for being so kind and funny to me during the past few weeks. I have never really liked gym class because I always felt pressured to be perfect. But in your class, it's fun and I actually enjoy gym class. I'm sorry that I'm not the best at most of the games we play, but I try. You are so welcoming and reliable and I have grown to love your class. Thank you so much, and see you 4th block.'"
